Gordon Slaps 5 Hits
|
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Ed Gordon today. Gordon went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Westwood pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Sixshooters Stadium, he had a 5-for-8 line and a day he will long remember. And the Irving Blue Sox had a 5-4 victory over the Sixshooters.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
Ed Gordon singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 8th, singled in the 10th, doubled in the 13th, flied out in the 15th and grounded out in the 16th.
In 7 games Gordon is hitting .471 this season with 16 hits, no home runs, 12 RBIs, 2 walks, .500 OBP and has scored 8 runs.
