Victory Over Sonics Takes Westwood to 8-4
|
The Westwood Sixshooters got a strong performance from pitcher Chet Saks, who stymied the Atlantic City offense en route to a 3-0 win at Sixshooters Stadium. Jorge Travieso closed the game out for Westwood, earning his 3rd save. The Sonics fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2031.
In the top of the eighth, John Willoughby stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Sonics were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Jorge Travieso made a terrific pitch and Willoughby flied out. Gone was the dream of a Atlantic City comeback.
