Farmers Topple BC with Late Rally

With second baseman Bogumil Tiwontschik leading the charge, the Lancaster Farmers defeated the San Antonio BC, 9-7, at San Antonio Field. Tiwontschik went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. Lancaster reliever Bert Gean picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Evan Roy was collared with the loss. Pat Clement recorded his 2nd save for Lancaster.
Tiwontschik had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Evan Roy, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Farmers a 8-7 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Tiwontschik.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Coy Knight said.
Lancaster, at 3-0, is off to a blistering start.
