Hot N Readys Subdue Ottawa, 4-2
|
Little Caesars Hot N Readys starter Liam Thomson turned in a top-notch performance against the Ottawa Nationals at The Pizza Oven. The result was a win for the Hot N Readys, 4-2. Thomson went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. The Hot N Readys, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Hot N Readys got a big at-bat from third baseman Jorge Noutel. For the game, Noutel went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Little Caesars a 4-2 lead.
Ottawa manager John Hill said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
