Vandenbrink Hits 2 home runs in Men Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 27-year old center fielder Kyle Vandenbrink, the Florida Men stopped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-2. Florida starter Juan Reyes was credited with the win after throwing 112 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-8. Carlos González got the save, his 3rd in 5 chances.
Vandenbrink had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Eric Lang, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Men a 3-2 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Vandenbrink.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Vandenbrink, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Florida now sits at 39-62, while Vermont falls to 46-55.
