Timber Hawks Can't Finish, Lose 8-5
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Fa-tang Wang, the Augusta Timber Hawks suffered a 8-5 loss to the Pennsauken Flyers. Wang was 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 runs. Jeren Kendall sewed up the save, his 8th. Pennsauken is now 54-35, Augusta 46-43.
The Flyers got a big at-bat from catcher Vic Richards. For the game, Richards was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 21st hit of the season gave Pennsauken a 7-5 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Richards said after the game.
