Victory Over Timber Hawks Takes Pennsauken to 53-35
|
The Pennsauken Flyers bested the Augusta Timber Hawks, 10-7, at Pennsauken Park. Alan Bryan was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Bernie Sanders got the win, improving to 6-3. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Pennsauken is now 53-35.
The Flyers beat the Timber Hawks with some clutch hitting. The single by Raúl Javier Jr. in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Javier Jr. gave his team the lead, 7-6, when he came through with the big hit.
"If it's down the middle," said Bryan, "you might as well hit it."
