BC Sneak Past Great Lakers, 4-3
|
Houston second baseman Orlando Montejo was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the Pure Michigan Great Lakers. Montejo, who is tied for 8th in the 3AAA in hits with 92, went 3-4 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the BC. Júlio Luna got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Corbin Holling, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save.
Noël Sassetti's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a curveball from Andrei-Luiz Frial for a run-scoring single. It put Houston in front, 4-3.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sassetti told a Houston Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Houston is now 34-49.
