Lake Monsters Get One-Run Win at Alaskan
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters handed the Alaskan Humpbacks a loss at Sea World. The final score was 7-6. Ramón Degollado was named player of the game for Vermont. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 1. Jesús Vidro picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 5 in 5 innings. Vermont is now 34-41, Alaskan 46-29.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Robert La Caze to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 7-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
