Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Vermont Lake Monsters got the win.
Vermont beat Augusta on the strength of starter Álex Bane's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Bane went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-5.
Vermont grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Robert La Caze delivered a bases-clearing double, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Lake Monsters.
La Caze told a Vermont Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Vermont, at 31-40, occupies 9th place in the Menard's AAA.
