Cattlemen Stumble, Lose to Grey Wolves
|
Iván Vega helped his team muscle past the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 8-4. In the game, the Vancouver right fielder went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ambrose Randall got the win, improving to 2-3. He held the Cattlemen to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Vancouver is now 18-16, Ft. Worth 14-20.
Vega contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Vancouver in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Vega took a forkball from Jorge Castillo and stroked the home run to left-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Grey Wolves to leap in front, 3-2.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager David Krause said.
