Coyotes Topple Belugas with Late Rally
|
The Coyotes had to overcome a good performance from Brinkley pitcher Luis Hernández to claim a 2-1 win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Hernández went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. The save was credited to Rafael Peralta, his 3rd. Even with the win, the Coyotes have a dismal 18-41 record.
Tommy Sullivan drove in one run for Hamilton. The 28-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Yue-rong Chen. It was his 25th RBI of the season.
"We were in it," said Brinkley manager Buddy Holman. "We just didn't score enough runs."
