The BC faced a stiff challenge from Hamilton pitcher Héctor Aguilar, but persevered to claim a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The final score was 3-2. Aguilar went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Arnout Els picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Neal Davis was tagged with the loss. Corbin Holling earned the save for Houston, his 9th of the year.
The BC got a big at-bat from catcher Phil Dougherty. For the game, Dougherty was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 40th hit of the season gave Houston a 3-2 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Dougherty told the Houston Today.
Houston is now 21-33.
