Coyotes Topple Lake Monsters with Late Rally
|
Hamilton center fielder Ken Stroud was instrumental in his team's 6-5 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters. Stroud went 3-5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Coyotes. Even with the win, the Coyotes have a dismal 13-25 record.
Stroud had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Santo Velazco, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Coyotes a 6-5 lead. It was the 10th hit of the year for Stroud.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Vermont manager Rick Nash. "But we decided not to take it."
