It was a fun time at Timber Hawks Ballpark, where the Sioux Falls Red Pandas and Augusta Timber Hawks tangled.

Behind a solid performance from center fielder Carlos Medellín, the Augusta Timber Hawks defeated the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 5-2. Medellín was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Timber Hawks. Andrew Holloway got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 7.2 innings. The save went to Brian Krick, his 7th this season.

Jaime Cruz went 1 for 4 for Augusta. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off José Tovar. It was his 27th RBI of the season.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cruz.

Augusta is now riding a 3-game win streak.
