|
Portland right-hander Giovanni Mireles made an effective start against the Phoenix Hotspur at Chase Field, leading his team to a 2-1 win. The Evergreens improved to a lofty 21-7.
Mireles, a native of Naples, Italy, was dealing all game. He kept Phoenix hitters off-balance, while giving the Evergreens 6.2 quality innings. Mireles threw 104 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 11.
