Fog Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Sunset District Fog defeated the Houston BC, 10-6. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Tim O'Neal, who went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Larry Strozier, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-0. The win brings the Fog to 10-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fourth inning. Facing Houston hurler Bobby Roode, José Ángel, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA in RBI with 14, drew a walk. The Fog went on to win.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Rudy Hankins said.
