BC Beat Lake Monsters in 11
|
Houston BC starter Willie Dustice kept the Vermont Lake Monsters hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-0 win. Houston reliever Corbin Holling picked up the win to move to 1-0. Manuel Montés suffered the loss. The win gives the BC a record of 4-3.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Earl Wiley hit a 2-1 fastball from Manuel Montés for a run-scoring single. It put Houston in front, 1-0.
"Willie was Willie," said BC manager Jerry Moore. "He gave it all he's got."
