A nice crowd turned out to see the Vermont Lake Monsters and Brinkley Belugas clash at Belugas Ballpark.

The Vermont Lake Monsters bested the Brinkley Belugas by a score of 11-7, with third baseman Ramón Degollado getting the main credit. On the day, Degollado was 4 for 6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Lake Monsters. Álex Bane got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 8.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from right fielder Carlos Germán. For the game, Germán went 1-4 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Vermont a 5-2 lead.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Lake Monsters manager Rick Nash. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
