Boddy Lifts Lakers to Win
The Echo Park Lakers picked up a win at The Voodoo Lounge, knocking off the New Orleans Voodoo, 4-1. Starting pitcher Kyle Boddy, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Echo Park now owns a record of 14-20.

Boddy, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 8 in 9 innings and gave up 1 earned run.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Boddy. "Successful pitchers do it."
