Victory Over Patriots Takes Northern Virginia to 16-10
Northern Virginia played host to Boston at the friendly confines of Atlantica.

Behind a solid performance from shortstop Eustacio Tafalla, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Boston Patriots, 11-6. Tafalla went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rainbow Mermaids. The win puts the Rainbow Mermaids at 16-10, while the Patriots drop to 10-16.

With a runner on 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Kyoji Hakoda delivered big for the Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia was leading 1-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"We came out aggressive," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister. "We came out swinging the bats."
