Victory Pushes Hawks Record to 11-7
|
Buckhead had no answer for Chicago Hawks hurler Lucas Begay, who overwhelmed Bowties hitters as the Hawks coasted to a 8-1 victory. Begay, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The Bowties, now 6-12, continue their poor start.
In the bottom of the third inning, third baseman Paddy Hodnett came through big-time for the Hawks. With Chicago leading 3-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Chicago skipper Alan Starwood.
