Suárez goes 4-for-4, Rainbow Mermaids Move to 15-9
Fans who came to Atlantica watched the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the Portland Evergreens fight to the finish.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids powered past the Portland Evergreens, 9-8, at Atlantica. Galtero Suárez went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Iván García closed the door for Northern Virginia, picking up his 8th save of the year.

Suárez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Northern Virginia in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Suárez took a fastball from Roberto Calderón and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Rainbow Mermaids to leap in front, 4-3.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Northern Virginia is now 15-9.
