Northern Lions BC Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Renaissance
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the Detroit Renaissance by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Augusto Encarnación. Encarnación was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Northern Lions BC. Dino Moonglampers closed the door for Thunder Bay, picking up his 5th save of the year. The Renaissance fall to 5-10 and continue their lackluster start in 2031.
Encarnación had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch slider from Javier Castillo, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Northern Lions BC a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Encarnación.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Encarnación said.
