Northern Lions BC Sneak Past Renaissance, 3-2
|
Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC starter Rodas Aguilar turned in a sterling performance against the Detroit Renaissance, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Aguilar, now 2-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Dino Moonglampers earned the save for Thunder Bay, his 4th of the year.
The most important at-bat for Thunder Bay came in the top of the ninth inning, when right fielder Luis Freitas stroked a full count fastball to right for a 2-run double, putting Thunder Bay up, 3-2.
Freitas called the triumph "a good team win."
The Renaissance fall to 5-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2031 season.
