Lakers Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Chicago Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel López, but the Echo Park Lakers still won the game, 5-2. López was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Mark Collingwood picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 1-0. The Lakers, now 2-5, have not found much traction so far in 2031.
In the top of the 6th, catcher Yoshihito Samurakami gave Echo Park the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Lakers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Chicago pitcher Miguel López changed that -- and Echo Park went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Samurakami told the Echo Park Observer.
