Evergreens Stumble, Lose to Grey Wolves
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves thumped the Portland Evergreens, 10-2, at Evergreen Park. Urs van Munster was a big reason his team got the win. van Munster was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. Nathaniel Riley picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-0. With the loss, Portland falls to 1-2.
van Munster came through with some timely hitting for Vancouver. With the score 1-0 in the top of the third and one down, van Munster hit a first pitch forkball for a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season made it 2-0, Vancouver.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," van Munster told a Vancouver Daily News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
