Middies Slip Past Wizarding, 6-5

With first baseman Mario Ramos leading the charge, the Grafton Middies defeated the Wizarding Express, 6-5, at Field of the Middies. Ramos, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in extra base hits with 47, went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Grafton is now 38-61.
Ramos had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a 1-2 fastball from Marcos Oquendo, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Middies a 6-5 lead. It was the 125th hit of the year for Ramos.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Grafton manager Ryan Naylor.
