Watanabe Goes Wild, But Patriots Win
|
Phoenix first baseman Tadayoshi Watanabe was sensational. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boston beat the Hotspur, 7-6. Watanabe was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Hotspur, now 12-9, continue their sluggish start.
Hideki Hisanobu hit a run-scoring triple off Santiago Alonza in the top of the ninth, which put the Patriots in front, 7-6. Hisanobu had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Hisanobu told the Boston Daily.
