Friday, July 5th, 2030
For 20 straight games, Takayuki Yoshikawa tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 22-year-old Athletic Club KC Academy center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the San Antonio BC. The BC held him hitless in 2 at-bats at San Antonio Field today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 20.

There was at leas one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Athletic Club KC Academy took the win by the score of 8-6.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

Yoshikawa is hitting .290 so far this season with 15 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 58 hits including no home runs, 19 walks and .355 OBP.
