Great Lakers Chill Prifti's Hot Streak Wednesday, August 7th, 2030 It was the best of both worlds for the Pure Michigan Great Lakers today at Pennsauken Park as they defeated the Pennsauken Flyers 3-2 and also snapped Vinski Prifti's 24-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Pennsauken center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Prifti, we just wanted to win the game," said Great Lakers skipper Mark Everhart. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Prifti frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Prifti is hitting .332 so far this season with 14 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 62 hits including no home runs, 10 walks and .365 OBP. |
