SL Selects Rookie Star of the Month Tuesday, October 1st, 2030 Willie McGirt is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest United States Silver League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In September the Portland hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .328 average with 21 hits, no home runs and 10 RBIs. This year McGirt has collected a .265 batting average to date with 89 hits in 336 at-bats, 43 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 82 times. He has played in 90 games. |
