Tanner goes 3-for-5, Express Move to 55-36
|
Nathan Tanner added some punch to the Wizarding offense, helping them outmuscle the Grafton Middies, 12-7. In the game, Tanner, who is tied for 5th in the SL in triples with 5, went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Wizarding reliever Octávio Ríos got the win, raising his record to 5-1. Dylan Silva was tagged with the loss. The Middies, at 46-45, have lost 5 straight games.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when second baseman Frank Grimes hit a 2-run single. The Express went on to win.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Bill Cefaratti. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
