|
Rocky Mountain designated hitter Roberto Sánchez had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Portland Evergreens, 6-3. Rafael Rivera got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4.2 innings. Jorge Garza sewed up the save, his 22nd.
Sánchez had a key at-bat for Rocky Mountain early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and gave Rocky Mountain an early 4-1 lead.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Sánchez said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
The Nuggets' win now puts them at 47-40.
