Philadelphia 1776 right-hander Bill Tugwell made an effective start against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum, leading his team to a 4-3 win. The win puts the BC at 33-46, while the Northern Lions BC drop to 30-49.
Kevin Malone was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia 1776. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the BC catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Malone told the Philadelphia 1776 Times.
