Calderón Delivers 3-1 Win
|
Portland Evergreens starter Roberto Calderón turned in a top-notch performance against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The result was a win for the Evergreens, 3-1. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Evergreens.
Calderón, a native of Barcelona, Venezuela, was dealing all game. He kept Ft. Worth hitters off-balance, while giving the Evergreens 8.1 quality innings. Calderón threw 105 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Portland skipper Imran Baig. "I can't complain."
