Divided Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Smoke
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Mario Castillo, the D.C. Divided defeated the Atlanta Smoke, 5-3. Castillo went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Divided. The winner was Bill Oulton, who threw 116 pitches over 8.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. Gabriel Hidalgo finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Obidiah Lewis made it 5-3 in favor of D.C. when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The Divided went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Castillo told the D.C. Citizen.
The defending champion Divided are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 6th win in 17 games.
