Cattlemen Raise Rally Flag, Beat Echo Park, 7-6
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen eked out a 7-6 win versus the Echo Park Lakers at Rangers Stadium. Nobody did more than catcher Gilberto Juárez, who captured player of the game honors. Ft. Worth is now 28-18, Echo Park 17-29.
Rick Mayfield made it 4-3 in favor of Ft. Worth when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Cattlemen went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Mayfield told the Ft. Worth News.
