Almost There: Panama City On Cusp of R2031 Triumph After 8-2 Win
|
The Panama City Piranhas moved to within one game of the Round 2032 today, downing the Phoenix Hotspur on the road at Chase Field by a score of 8-2. Piranhas second baseman Ted Cook was named player of the game after he was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Piranhas a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2031.
Cook had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Piranhas went on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cook said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Phoenix. Slated to start are Edison Larson for Panama City and Jaime van de Weideven for Phoenix.
