Rodríguez, Toledo Start Round 2031 Strong with Home Win
|
Game was big. So was Rafael Rodríguez.
In leading Toledo to a crucial 4-3 victory over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Pacesetter Park today, the Toledo starter rose to the occasion, tossing 7.2 good innings and earning player of the game honors. Rodríguez threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs as the Stingers defended their home field to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2031.
It could have been a different outcome for Toledo, had it not been for Tamasaburo Kato, the 30-year old second baseman . Kato contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Toledo up, 4-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Kato told the Toledo Times.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Pacesetter Park. Slated to start are Guldemunde Geilinger for the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Maxime Janssens for the the Toledo Stingers.
