Northern Virginia Wins Game in Extras; On Verge of R2032
An all-important Game of the Round 2031 went into extra innings at Atlantica, with the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids eventually emerging on top. Northern Virginia has Eustacio Tafalla to thank, after the shortstop was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 in the 7-6 victory. The Rainbow Mermaids are now one game away from the Round 2032, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.

The Rainbow Mermaids were down to their final out when catcher Miguel Gazivoda turned a first pitch cutter from José Macías into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run made the Atlantica crowd go wild.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Tafalla told the Northern Virginia Gazette.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Hampton. Slated to start are Rob Silva for Toledo and Raúl Gómez for Northern Virginia.
