Screaming Eagles Hammered by Garza, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
The Northville Eclipse moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Old-Timers Park by a score of 7-5. Eclipse designated hitter Carlos Garza was named player of the game after he was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win gives the Eclipse a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.
Chang-lit Min went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Northville. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Min delivered for the Eclipse. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Northville on top, 4-3.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Garza.
