Targaryens Even With Nobles After Extra-Innings Win
|
The Royse City Targaryens went the distance and then some at Jerome Grounds today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Bakersfield Nobles.
It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the PL AAA Championship, but Royse City eventually took the 5-4 win despite the performance of Bakersfield starting pitcher and player of the game Malulani Anakone, who threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-5 series.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the tenth, Gonzalo Álvarez hit a sacrifice fly. The Targaryens took the lead, 5-4.
"I like our resilience," said Álvarez.
The next game is set to be played Tuesday, September 24th, 2030 in Royse City. Slated to start are José Sánchez for Bakersfield and Doug Freeth for Royse City.
