3B Fung, Great Lakers Destroy Fog 11-3 to Force Game 5
|
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers and the Sunset District Fog will take the 3L AAA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Great Lakers beat the Fog 11-3 at Fog Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Pure Michigan third baseman Zong-yuan Fung was named player of the game in the win after he went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 4 times.
Bartolo Benítez didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Pure Michigan on top, 2-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Benítez.
The next game is scheduled for Friday, September 27th, 2030. Slated to start are Roberto Silva for Sunset District and Martín Flores for Pure Michigan.
