Briggs Handcuffs Generals, Blaze Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
The South Beach Blaze got an exceptional performance from starter Aaron Briggs, who silenced the Washington offense en route to a 4-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the PL A Championship today. The Generals could never get a bead on the right-handed Briggs, who threw 9 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Blaze now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 series.

Briggs was in the zone all game. He frustrated Washington hitters while giving the Blaze 9 innings of quality work. Briggs threw 141 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 9 punchouts.

"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Briggs told the South Beach Daily.

Game 3 is set to be played Thursday, September 12th, 2030 at Washington Park in Washington. The scheduled starters for the game are Harrison Tuff for South Beach and Juan Carbajal for Washington.
