The Louisiana Dragoons moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Nebraska Plainsmen at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium by a score of 8-3. Dragoons left fielder Walt Trombly was named player of the game after he was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win gives the Dragoons a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 3L A Championship.

Trombly had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run triple. The Dragoons went on to win.

Plainsmen manager Jack Clayton did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the 3L A Championship."
