Home Field Advantage: Roche, Louisiana Open 3L A Championship with Win
|
The Louisiana Dragoons started the 3L A Championship in style today, downing the visiting Nebraska Plainsmen at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Dragoons right-hander Nicolas Roche was named player of the game after he threw 5 innings allowing 1 run.
Louisiana took the lead with two out in the bottom of the first when Connor Petty stroked a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Louisiana. For the day, Petty went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs.
"We've got a great group of guys," Petty said, "and we're having fun right now."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium in Louisiana. The scheduled starters for the game are Doruk Keyder for Nebraska and Darweshi Hadiya for Louisiana.
