Elroy Thompkins pitched a gem to lead Philadelphia 1776 to a 2-1 victory over the Grafton Middies. The BC bumped their record to 18-12 with this latest triumph.

Tony Vega, who leads the SL with a .450 on-base percentage, aided the Philadelphia 1776 cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk.

"I just love going out and having a big game," Thompkins said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
