The Toledo Stingers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Las Vegas Flamingos on the road at The Strip by a score of 6-4. Stingers second baseman Tamasaburo Kato was named player of the game after he went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. The win gives the Stingers a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Had Dylan Carson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Carson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Stingers.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Carson told the Toledo Times.
