Almost There: Grafton On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-4 Win
Grafton right fielder John Meléndez was the key at Field of the Middies today, being named player of the game as he powered the Middies to victory in a critical Game of the Silver League Championship. The Middies took the 6-4 win over the Houston 1837 BBC to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the sixth when Meléndez, who was drafted in the three round of the 2023 draft, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Middies into the lead, 5-4.

"I just love going out and having a big game," Meléndez said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
